What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach that helps children learn important life skills and reduce behaviors that may interfere with learning, safety, or daily life. ABA focuses on understanding why behaviors happen and teaching meaningful skills in a supportive, positive way.
Rather than trying to change who a child is, ABA helps children build independence, communication, confidence, and success in everyday environments like home, school, and the community.
How ABA Helps Children
ABA therapy can support children in learning skills such as:
Communication and language
Social interaction and play skills
Daily living skills (following routines, dressing, toileting, etc.)
Emotional regulation and coping skills
Safety awareness
School readiness and learning skills
At the same time, ABA helps reduce behaviors that may be unsafe or make participation in daily activities difficult.
How ABA Works
ABA therapy breaks skills down into small, manageable steps and teaches them through:
Positive reinforcement (celebrating successes!)
Practice through play and everyday activities
Individualized teaching strategies
Consistent support across environments
Every child’s program is personalized based on their strengths, needs, and family goals.
Family-Centered Approach
Parents and caregivers are an essential part of ABA. We work closely with families to:
Set meaningful goals
Teach strategies that can be used at home
Support progress across all areas of life
Our goal is to help children thrive — not just in therapy sessions, but in real-life situations that matter most to your family.
